BREATHE

The Second Step: Breathe

We must move but we also must coordinate this movement with our breath.  Pranayama is the practice of breath control in yoga.  Studies are showing that by changing the patterns of breathing, you can restore balance to the body’s stress response systems, calm an agitated mind, relieve symptoms of anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (“PTSD”) and improve endurance and performance. It’s also a proven to support multiple aspects of physical health including lung function, blood pressure and brain function.  If we can regulate the breath, we can regulate the mind.
