Struggling to touch your toes? Feeling stiff when you wake up in the morning? Are you a runner or cyclist with tight hamstrings and hip flexors? Then this is the class for you!
Yin yoga is a slow-style of yoga with poses (asanas) held for longer periods of time. Yin yoga targets your deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, joints and bones and is more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into your mind and the physical sensations of your body.
Studies have shown that a yin practice has a significant impact on lowering stress and anxiety as well as reducing the risk of depression. Plus, it activates your parasympathetic nervous system, which calms your body and slows your heart rate.
This class is suitable for all levels. Please have a mat or large towel, and a yoga strap or belt for this class.
